Calls on Americans “Not to become numb” to fatalities.
On Monday, President Biden and Vice President Harris addressed the nation to grieve for the 500,000 people who have lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Cathedral rang its bells 500 times, and the president, vice president, and their spouses stood in front of 500 candles lit to honor the memory of those lost to the coronavirus. President Biden urged Americans to cooperate with one another, and put aside their political differences to bring about an end to the pandemic.
The president said, “It’s not Democrats or Republicans who are dying from the virus. It’s our fellow Americans, it’s our neighbors. It’s our friends, our mothers, our fathers, our daughters, husbands, wives. We have to fight this together as one people, as the United States of America. That’s the only way we’re going to beat this virus.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would lead President Biden in the best way to help the nation mourn.
- For Vice President Harris to be used by the Lord to bring an end to the pandemic.
- That God would prevent any more people from dying from the disease.
